You really do have to stop in Katikati for at least an hour so you can walk up one side of the main street and down the other.
The dozens of larger-than-life murals scattered
throughout the town are truly a wonder to
behold.
Any wall adjcent to the Mainstreet footpath with half a dozen square metres or more
of blank space has been taken over by the
multitude of artists.
Between they have in recent years transformed
this rural orchard town.
Barry, the newspaper-reader work of life-like sculpture has become a major tourist attraction all by himself and a few minutes stroll along the Haiku Path will do your soul no end of good.
