Travelling from Whitianga towards Whangamata
and Waihi, you turn right here, immediiately
past the tavern, and drive the 3 kilometres
along an easy-driving metal road to the Riverglen
motor camp.
Then, when you're settled in at the camp and feel inclined to have someone else cook your evening meal, the tavern is certainly worth a visit.
For at least two very good reasons: First for the old-world courtesy,
and secondly to discover the delights of
a beautifully cooked, moderately priced and
generously portioned meal.
I don't think I've ever seen such large plates, filled to the rim with fish, chips and the trimmings, for such a reasonable price.
